Tito Bonito

Los Angeles

Also known as the Cuban Missile Crisis of Burlesque, Tito Bonito is a dancer, emcee, and instructor. In addition, he freelances as a graphic designer and editor (working with both audio & video). Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Tito moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 2005 to study Theatre. In late 2010, he fell in love with and begin performing burlesque. His performances are a mixture of comedy, dance, and neo-vaudeville which have captivated audiences in 3 countries and over 30 cities.

In the fall of 2012, Tito traveled for two months on tour across the United States (The Cuban Missile Crisis: US Tour) with the ultimate goal of fulfilling his childhood dream of moving to Los Angeles, California. Since then, Tito has performed, hosted shows, and taught burlesque-related courses across the country and internationally. He has also performed in notable festivals such as the Show-Me Burlesque Festival in St. Louis (2011), the Americana Burlesque & Sideshow Festival in Asheville, NC (2012), the Windy City Burlesque Festival in Chicago (2011, 2012), Southwest Burlesque Showcase in Albuquerque (2013, 2015), the New York Boylesque Festival (2014) & the Seattle Boylesque Festival (2015).

In the summer of 2013, Tito created a burlesque documentary-styled webshow on YouTube called Cuban Missile Series (a spin off of the show he co-created with burlesque icon Jeez Loueez, The 8th Degree). The show chronicles his burlesque career since his move to LA and follows his travels with episodes and shorts in Canada, Mexico, and across the United States. Just two years later, Tito won Most Comedic act at the 1st Annual Burlypicks in LA as well as named one of Time Out LA’s Top Burlesque Performers in LA.

Last year, Tito began hosting the weekly Bootleg Bombshells show at Townhouse in Venice as well as Donna Hood’s bi-monthly Tease If You Please extravaganza at the famous Globe Theatre in LA and was named one of LA Weekly’s People of 2016.

This year, he will be competing for the title of “Mr. Exotic World” at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.
